Meadowsweet
It's currently used in traditional herbal medicine for mild pain relief, fever, cold, and as a natural anti-inflammatory.

Meadowsweet along with White Willow Bark, are both referred to as "herbal aspirin" because both herbs contain salicylic acid, the compound that was later synthesized into aspirin. While it does not have the same pharmaceutical actions of that drug, the
whole herb effect of Meadowsweet, makes it a safe, natural choice for relieving everyday minor aches and pains, plus it's gentler on the stomach. In fact, Meadowsweet is often recommended by herbalists for heartburn and other digestive complaints due to its soothing effect on the digestive tract. In other applications, Meadowsweet is also considered to be an antiseptic diuretic, useful for urinary tract infections.

Common use: Arthritis (may be combined with Angelica or White Willow); rheumatism; cough; cold; bronchitis; fever; headache; menstrual cramps; pain; heartburn; hyperacidity; gastritis; ulcers; urinary infections; vaginitis; prostatitis.

Suggested Directions: 1 to 2 cups daily. If desired, add honey and/or lemon to taste. Some experience loose stools in the first few days of use. DON'T USE IF SENSITIVE TO SALICYLATES.
