Buchu preparations are still widely used by the South African Hottentots tribe, and is commonly known there as Bookoo or Buku. In Western herbalism, Buchu is an invaluable herbal diuretic and urinary antiseptic, which many use for relieving inflammation and infection of the kidneys, bladder and urinary tract.
