Make your own snood! You'll be surprised at how easy it is. You'll want one to match every outfit that you own.
How To Make A Snood
As shown here, when your rectangle of fabric is folded in half, the top edge should be one half the diameter of your head and the length comparable to the length of your hair. If your hair is very long, it doesn't have to be the same length of your hair but making it too short may be uncomfortable. Cut the corners off of the bottom edge to give it a nice rounded look.
Now unfold your fabric and it should look like the image shown here. Fold the top edge down about 1.5 inches and sew all the way across. This will make a place to pull your drawstring through.
Fold it back in half again with the rough side of your sewing facing out. Now sew the bottom edge and open side but don't sew your drawstring tube shut! Stop right when you get to it. After you sew, turn the whole thing right side out to hide your stitches.
If you want a drawstring to match your snood, sew three sides of a long tube like this one and then turn it right side out and sew the forth side closed too. You can use the same fabric or one of a complimentary color or pattern. Make sure it's long enough to cover your head's diameter plus enough to tie into a bow.
Your finished snood should look like this. It's actually much like a simple drawstring bag!
Flip your head upside down and pull the snood up over your hair then flip your head back up.
Pull the ties tight and tie them into a bow behind the back of your neck and let the ends of the drawstring fall under the snood. That's it! Instead of a tie you can also top your fabric piece with a band of stretchy cotton sewn just a half inch smaller than necessary so that it pulls on tight without ties.
