In African folk medicine, this herb is used in the treatment of sore throats, urinary tract infections and granuloma annulare (a skin condition characterized by development of reddish nodules arranged in the form of a circle); while American Indians boiled the root to make a tea for menstrual irregularities. As a diuretic herb, Canada Fleabane has also been recommended for bladder problems and burning urine. COMMON NAMES: Horseweed, Flea Wort, Colt's Tail, Pride Weed, Blood Staunch.
Common use: Internal hemorrhage (bleeding from bowels & uterus); diarrhea; dysentery; diuretic; hemorrhoids.
